Media release: Australian Government renews Microsoft Volume Sourcing Arrangement
The Hon Stuart Robert MP
Minister for Government Services, Stuart Robert, today announced the Australian Government has established the fourth iteration of the whole-of-government Microsoft Volume Sourcing Arrangement (VSA).
Minister Robert said the arrangement will continue to deliver value for money that would not otherwise be available to smaller government agencies when purchasing Microsoft products and services.
‘It will continue to enable government agencies to enjoy better value and more flexibility when sourcing commonly used Microsoft products and services,’ he said.
‘This arrangement provides the tools to support agencies in their transition to a modern IT environment through the adoption of cloud-based services.’
Across government, agencies are in the process of transitioning to cloud. This enables agencies to take advantage of Microsoft’s ability to support a hybrid cloud/on-premises environment, which can help make the move to the cloud faster and more efficient.
Coordinated procurement through volume sourcing arrangements is part of the Morrison Government’s commitment to simplifying ICT procurement for agencies and industry.
Government agencies can access the arrangement now. Further information about the arrangement is available at https://www.dta.gov.au/microsoft
